A Jolly Christmas Day Out

Until Sunday 10 January

The Postal Museum elves have given our exhibition celebrating 40 years of The Jolly Postman a festive makeover. Join Goldilocks’ seasonal celebrations, make Christmas pudding at the Three Bears’ cottage, and peek inside the Wicked Witch’s gingerbread bungalow!

See a treasure trove of original sketches and wintry watercolours, and discover how the Ahlbergs drew inspiration from the everyday magic of the post arriving through the letterbox to create a Christmas classic!

Add The Jolly Christmas Postman Challenge to your order and find jolly Christmas characters like Baby Bear, Humpty Dumpty and the Gingerbread Boy hiding throughout the museum.  Learn more

Mail Rail’s Big Birthday!

A new exhibition opens Saturday May 29, 2027

2027 marks a big year for Mail Rail as we celebrate its centenary year! To mark the occasion, we’re planning a programme of events, including a brand-new exhibition.

Powering the Post will uncover the invention, engineering, and experimentation behind the post – including lessons to be learned from the ideas that didn’t deliver.

In this exhibition, you’ll meet those who have helped delivery drones take flight, get into the nuts and bolts of letter-sorting machines, and hear from the engineers of tomorrow. Learn more
