In 2016 the High Court ruled in favour of justice for the families of the Hillsborough 96. The victims were judged to be unlawfully killed due to the actions of the South Yorkshire police force.
The Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign believe that the actions of the same police force during the Miners’ Strike of 1984-85, specifically at Orgreave in South Yorkshire bare a remarkable similarity to the way the Hillsborough case was handled. They continue to campaign for the Government to sanction an investigation into the events that took place on that day.
Peterborough Trades Union Council are pleased to be bringing the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign to Peterborough to speak about what happened at Orgreave and to show the documentary With Banners Held High.
The event will take place on Friday 29 July at the John Clare Theatre, Central Library, Broadway, Peterborough starting at 7pm. There is an entrance fee of £5 waged, £3 unwaged
