External Building Cladding and BT Fire Safety
To: All Branches
Dear Colleagues,
In light of the horrific events at Grenfell Tower, there has been a lot of interest raised regarding how BT manages this issue across their estate. With that in mind BT have drafted a briefing document that summarises the fire strategy in BT and the next steps they will be taking to ensure they identify specific risks, which will be addressed as appropriate. Please see the BT briefing on cladding attached.
And if you’re a field engineer whose work takes you into blocks of flats as part of your role, you’ll know from the news that all local authorities are reviewing the fire risks on all blocks of flats and similar buildings. It’s important to be aware of, and follow any updated advice given by the local authorities or building owners before entering buildings.
This has been briefed out to staff and there will also be an article included in the next edition of Safe & Well.
