Branch Political Officers Report for Branch Committee Meeting 29th March 2017

On Saturday 25th march I was invited to give a presentation to the Peterborough South & East branch of Peterborough CLP, they were interested to know the relationship between Trade Unions and the Labour Party, this presentation is the first that they have received.

I have attached a copy of the presentation to this report.

CLP Affiliations

As reported at the last meeting I am still awaiting confirmation from Labour Party Regional Office of the names and contact details of CLP Secretaries, then we can send out our affiliations.

Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Mayoral Election

I have emailed the Labour Candidate Kevin Price to try and set up a meeting between the three CWU branches and himself to discuss how we can help with his campaign, please find attached to this report his financial requirements. You will see that some of these requests are way out of our reach, so I would like to propose that up to £750 be set aside from the Political Fund, to be fed into the campaign when necessary.

The CLP will need help to delivery Kevin’s campaign leaflets if you can spare and hour or two please let me know and I will pass on your details to the CLP.
